Mrs. Beatrice Lyrette, age 90 years, passed away peacefully at St Joseph’s Hospital with family by her side on Monday, April 9, 2018. Beatrice Edith St. Amour was born in Maniwaki, Quebec.
Her younger years were spent helping her Mom raise her siblings, and although she was raised on a farm, she was no farmer. Edmond Damus Lyrette swept her off her feet and their love story began resulting in their marriage in 1947. They moved to Port Arthur in the 1950s and raised their 8 children here.
Beatrice was a longtime member of Our Lady of Loretto Church, the Catholic Women’s League, the French Club and her favourite social TOPS group.
She is survived by three sisters: Leona Brunet, Louise Britt, and Bernadette Blais and two bothers Maurice and Renaud St. Amour.
She is survived by her children: Diane Brindley (Hal), Phillip Lyrette (Hattie), Gilles Lyrette, Carol Bosinger (John), Lorraine Papineau (Mike), Guy Lyrette, J. P. Lyrette (Cathy), Kristine Lyrette.
Her grandchildren: Jill Brindley, Kate Brindley (Dave), Robin Seto (Kaz), Nathan Bosinger (Diana), Derek Papineau (Kristy), Kelly Papineau (Ben), Alisha Lyrette, Mark Lyrette (Elle), Tyler Duffield (Jenny), Josh Duffield (Cec), Paige Lyrette, Alyssa Rubenick (Michael), Paige Rubenick (Brad), Nicko Mintenko (Ashley) and Brandi Cull (Ernie).
Her great grandchildren (a.k.a. “Gigi” to the younger ones): Amanda Moffett, Rebecca Lyrette, Sara Moffett, Oscar and Ruby Seto, Hudson, Linden and Nolan Papineau, Margo and Jake Cryderman, Zachary and Caleb Bosinger, Jackson and Jasper Duffield, Lucy Duffield, Courtney and Taylor Miro, Willow and Jasper Ignace, Mikka Nash.
Her great-great grandchildren: Sophie, Zoey and Tobi Mather, Harper and Jenson Mintenko.
She was pre-deceased by her husband of 48 years, Edmond Lyrette (1923-1995), her grand-daughter Kathleen Moffett in 2007 and her great grandchild Marcus Ignace in 2011. Also her siblings: Della Britt, Edgar, Robert and Len St. Amour, and Denise Morin. Pre-deceased by her brothers-in-law: Oscar Blais, Ed Britt, Hector Britt and Ronald Brunet.
Heartfelt thanks to Doctors, Nurses and support team at St Joseph’s Hospital for all their kindness to our Mom and her family.
